The Macallan Experience

to engage

To physically immerse visitors into the story behind The Macallan’s dram, The Macallan Experience employed a whiskey bar, lounge area, retail space, private dining room, and a Sensory Cinema.

While duty-free experiences are curtailed by air travel restrictions, the concept inspires local tourism to immerse in the dynamic exploration of the brand.
Additionally, thoughtful execution was necessary to ensure the conservation of Raffles Hotel, fusing tradition-rich space with elegant experience. The concept birthed for the experience encouraged a seamless flow; from the beginning through a tunnel of casks down to a final cinematic piece to complete the journey.

Rimowa

In stand-alone boutiques, the architectural structure supports a stately presence for the brand. For RIMOWA’s flagship store in Myeongdong, Korea, we paid tribute to the brand’s trademark suitcases. The building façade was made to look like the surface of the brand’s renowned aluminium suitcase, with LED illumination that accentuated the signature ridged suitcases that RIMOWA is known for.

We consulted city architects and urban landscapers to keep in mind the original architectural integrity of the building. Beyond working over the facade of the building, the interior forms an oasis when it integrates the same design, blending the sleek style on selected levels while maintaining the structural condition of the building.

As the first stand-alone in the country located in the central tourist spot, the pristine three-storey building captures the eye of city dwellers.

Located in Senayan City, Indonesia, is a newly conceptualised Rimowa store with an exquisite selection of luggage on display. Delivering the brand’s promise of high quality, we utilise materials of diverse textures obtained across the globe. With a focus on travel, the store features a carousel display on the wall to showcase its luggages and metal frames designed to emulate airport conveyor belts – creating a succinct layout for a travel-themed store.

RIMOWA has distinguished itself through unique perspectives in its interiors, creating impressions in all its projects with Kingsmen. The urban space of Galleria departmental store in Gwanggyo boosts the colourful possibility for the brand. While elemental material selection like silver gray metal and wood delineates the space, one is able to bring focus to the vibrant offerings by RIMOWA. Dynamic qualities of the store get activated as one explores the two delineated zones, gradually unveiling the sophisticated customer journey for RIMOWA’s travellers.

Ensuring safe and seamless 24/7 service, security of the store was considered thoughtfully, comprising high-tech infrastructure and hardware fitted into ceiling for spatial considerations and sensors to monitor the store. Personalised experiences were also highlighted through advanced facial recognition technology and a roving live bot in-store to offer human-to-human virtual chat when the support is required. With 5G enabled support rolled out with the installation of a solar-powered hybrid system, the self-sustaining container space allows services to be ‘connection-free’ during operations.

The modular store occupies a substantial 9 by 6 metres footprint that can be decoupled and freely transported to another location within a short timeframe. Customers can try out and purchase the latest phone models and
accessories, and recontract or sign up for new plans at self-service kiosks at their utmost convenience. The container also utilised an automated mechanical extension to further extend the retail space by another 2 by 6 metres should the event calls for flexibility. Moving from downtown to neighborhood community, the hybrid service and lifestyle environment is shapeshifting retail experiences.
